Mom Fashion: 2021 Fashion Haul
The Best Quilted Sweater & My #2 Favorite Pair of Jeans
I don’t love clothing. I love people, I love experiences, I love God. But I really, really like some clothing pieces. This sweater is one of those pieces.
This little quilted cloud of fabric is light weight and has an added puff sleeve that isn’t overwhelming. It is so comfortable and uncommon (at least in my closet).
These Abercrombie and Fitch jeans are “those jeans”. You know… “those jeans” you wear day after day because of their feel and look.
$13 Sweater…Say What?
It’s been a minute since I’ve shopped at Loft…but sheesh…I couldn’t get over the deals! (This sweater cost $13 on sale!) My advice: know your size and shop online here. They have way more selection online and incredible sales. It’s Walmart prices for quality products. I think Loft tends to run big – but don’t take my word for it; go in and find out your size first.
Tip: Use a Protect-All Waterproofer Spray on your boots and shoes to extend their life. This especially makes a difference for shoes with a softer surface.
Ahhhhhhhh…. Athleta Pants
These pants…Oh, how I adore these pants. They are comfort x10, wash and wear perfectly and adorable. What more could you ask for? Oh wait…they are also ideal for travel. At full cost, these puppies are a little bit on the higher end – but I promise you, they are worth it. Athleta does run sales from time to time…so keep a look out for these. And if you find them in the shorts version, snag them.
Tip: Athleta does run big. You really need to get the right size for you – otherwise their clothes look off.
Sweater, Black Stretch Jeans & Boots
Express earned some points with this little number. This outfit is completely comfortable. I did size up on the jeans, only to ensure comfort.
Tip: Stop worrying about the size. No one else sees that. What they do see are those lines in your pants that look like they are about to cut you.
Classic Winter Outfit
How does this little number rate for some mom fashion?
I’m telling you…I can’t believe the prices at Loft. I snagged this sweater for only $19. The quality and comfort are both superb.
Gucci Belt – Real or Fake?
So…what do you ladies think…is this infamous GG belt real or is it a knock off? Seeing as I am asking the question, I’m sure you reasoned: it must be a dupe. Correct you are. (Yoda lingo).
So… to be honest, I am not too concerned about designer clothing or accessories. Sure, a splurge every now and then is fair…but I don’t really aspire to own things purely for the label. However, when I found this dupe on Etsy, I figured why not? I’ll give it a shot. And let’s see if this purchase can benefit others in love with the Guc. (In my mind it sounded like “Gooch).
Gucci Belt Dupe Details
Now, I have never personally seen or felt an actual Gucci belt, so I don’t know how to compare the two. However, if I am comparing pictures, it is very hard to tell the difference.
My belt reminds me of the amazing knock off purses you can find in NYC. (Sidenote: I haven’t been to New York and looked for purses in over 10 years, so things may have changed a bit). The purses I remember had the label, the same print…pretty much everything. For someone like me who is not too familiar with super expensive designer hand bags, (but also can notice a bad knockoff) – those purses worked well. This belt reminds me of that. It even has Gucci written on the inside. It is not super amazing quality by any means – but it’s not poor either.
Sizing was tough. It goes by centimeters, so I kind of guessed. (Why I didn’t measure or convert? Good question.) I went with 90 cm just to be safe it wasn’t too small. Well…it was way too big. I ended up nailing a whole in it to make it fit. 🙂
UPDATE: Sadly, as of right now, this Etsy shop has sold out of belts. Nevertheless, I have found extremely similar belts on Etsy but cannot vouch for the quality. I’m sorry ladies! The “similar belts” are included in the link above.
Versatile Top & Colored Leggings
This sweater is super comfortable and can be worn a multiple of ways – another Amazon find worth buying.
Question: How often do you wear colored leggings? If you answered never, change that up, sister. A pop of color is always fun. (Not that dark burgundy is an exciting pop or anything – but you know what I am saying…right?)
Snow Outfit (Minus the Coat)
Another Amazon sweater for the win. This guy is very comfortable and of decent quality. It hasn’t been washed yet – so we’ll see if it holds up.
I’m kinda excited about these boots. They are very comfortable (even for my massive bunion). However, I do want to mention that Walmart sells boots that are extremely similar. I would have returned my boots – but didn’t think the Walmart pair would have weathered well in snow. So ladies, if snow isn’t an issue, you may want to try out these boots to save some moolah.
Amazon Chunky Sweater, Belt, Skinny Jeans
This Amazon sweater is as comfy as it looks. If you’re not feeling the hue – no worries, there’s a rainbow of colors to choose from.
“Raise Them Kind” Sweatshirt
There’s a lot to this outfit… so stick with me if you like it. (If this outfit doesn’t scream “mom fashion”, unsure what does.)
While I do love the message of this sweatshirt…I’m still not convinced it was worth the price: $31 for a Gildan sweatshirt with ironed-on letters. I’m pretty sure I could have made it for about half the price. But if you’re not into making it…give it a try! Or if you prefer a different font…here are two other alternatives and here.
Now for the leggings… This is one Amazon find that does not disappoint (yet). Sheesh… I sound so an anti-Amazon…I ensure you, I’m not. It’s just when it comes to clothes, I tend to be disappointed by the quality…But so far, these leggings have washed and worn extremely well. They are super soft and definitely worth $22.99.
Lastly…. my beloved cheetah sneaks. (Or leopard…I can never tell the print apart.) These guys are totally worth the purchase. I love that they are unique yet subtle. I always get complimented while wearing these sexy thangs. Also, I do want to mention for all you other mommas who have bunions – these shoes pass the test.
Walmart Outfit
Yep… This outfit is completely from Walmart. I don’t know why it has taken me this long to try out good old Waly-World for clothes. Perhaps because I don’t associate Walmart with fashion? That may be changing…
This is the perfect ribbed shirt. I now have four. For $5, how could you go wrong?
Tip: these long-sleeved shirts pair perfectly with the Athelta pants mentioned above.
Now, when it comes to these jeans…I have just found my new favorite. I am so stoked about these $16 jeans! Holy guacamole! This is my first time shopping for clothes at Walmart; I was not disappointed. They are SO comfortable without being too stretchy. Yes, I get it…stretchy jeans are awesome…but most of the time I want more denim in my jeans (which are so hard to find). Again, these jeans are only $16.
Tip: if you range between 2-3 pant sizes (like I do, depending on the store), go with the largest size.
And these badass shoes…on sale for $9. Yep. We’ll see how they hold up… but for now, they are doing just fine.
Finally, the watch. Did you know Walmart sells Marc Jacob watches online? (Ya, me neither.) The watch I am wearing is an old Marc Jacobs watch that they don’t make anymore. The linked watch is extremely similar and costs way less than the one I am wearing…You’re welcome. 😉
Valentine’s Day Look
Isn’t it funny how by simply wearing something red it can be classified as a “Valentine’s look”? …Well mamasitas, this is mine. 🙂
This sweater costed $7.20 online from Loft. Yes, you read that correct, $7.20. Like really? Really. I bought it in white too because… you know…it’s $7.20.
For all my cold weather women, please note this sweater will probably not keep you too warm. It is almost knitted in a way, leaving small openings throughout the sweater.
Tip: Screw the “can’t wear white after Labor day crap”…girl, you do what you want.
That’s All Folks
